The brief
The client’s scientific work depends on a secure, high-performance workplace with reliable video conferencing, enterprise IT and physical security aligned with global compliance standards. The new floor had to match the design, functionality and user experience of the existing office, fit the systems used across Europe and the US, and be ready to meet handover targets.

What we did
Meeting room AV with Crestron Flex
mtc installed Crestron Flex video conferencing systems in all 15 new meeting rooms, pre-configured for Microsoft Teams, Zoom and direct HDMI input. Each room has table microphones, ceiling speakers and an integrated touchpanel for control and volume, plus auto-wake triggered by occupancy sensors and a pre-set schedule. Participants can walk in, start a call and present with minimal setup, and the consistent design across rooms reduces the learning curve for staff.
Structured cabling and network infrastructure
The network backbone was extended to the new floor with high-speed CAT6A cabling, a centralised patch panel installation, and equipment racks with UPS support for redundant power. mtc built an additional server room with networking infrastructure and provided secure Wi-Fi coverage using the client’s global-standard WAP configuration. Working with the client’s international IT team, mtc matched IP ranges, switch configurations and port assignments to existing global standards.
Office paging and internal audio
mtc installed an office-wide paging system covering key zones across the expansion area for general announcements, emergency alerts and service messages. The system is integrated with the AV rack and controlled from a wall-mounted interface in reception, so authorised staff can broadcast to one zone or several at once.
Access control and CCTV
mtc extended the building’s access control system with secure proximity card readers tied to the client’s global credentialing system. New entry and internal doors received contactless badge readers, electric strike locks and motion sensors for automated relocking. IP-based CCTV cameras were added to cover main entry points, the server room and hallways, with all feeds streaming to the central security management platform used across the client’s other global offices.
