Helping You Achieve New Milestones

Audio-Visual Integration Services

Your AV system should not be the reason the office opens late

mtc designs and installs professional audio-visual systems across Japan, from executive boardrooms and conference rooms to combinable training rooms, large LED displays and open collaboration spaces. We work with your IT and facilities teams to deliver rooms that meet global standards and let people present, meet and collaborate without an instruction manual.

Meeting rooms that work on day one

Simple to use, built to last

We design AV systems for the people who use them, not for show. Every decision prioritises usability, maintainability and long-term value: how the room is used, who supports it, which platforms it connects to and how it will be documented after handover. The result is one-touch meeting starts, a consistent interface across every room and clean installations that respect the design intent.

Whether your teams meet on Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Webex or a mix of platforms, we build a solution that simply works. We are not tied to a single brand. Solutions we regularly recommend include Crestron Flex, Neat devices, Shure MXA microphone arrays, Biamp conferencing, Crestron Automate VX camera tracking, Logitech Rally Bars, Powersoft Mezzo amplifiers, Samsung and Sharp NEC displays and BrightSign signage players.

Full in-house delivery

All AV work is carried out by our own certified and trained technicians, and we do not subcontract our core work. From cable pulling to control system programming, we take ownership from start to finish. This lets us manage quality, scheduling and cost closely and avoid the problems caused by poor handoffs between vendors, whether you are fitting out a single meeting room or planning a regional rollout.

We are certified partners with Crestron, Extron, Biamp, QSC, Shure and other leading manufacturers. Our AV team works alongside our Project Management staff, and our bilingual technical project managers make sure international expectations are met, local realities are respected and communication stays clear across language, time zone and cultural differences. Clients include Uber, Indeed, Genmab and Activision Blizzard.

Engineered in Tokyo, ready for site

Equipment delivered through mtc is received, staged, labelled and tested at our Tokyo facility before it reaches your site. Firmware is updated, configuration is applied and accessories are verified. This reduces installation time, surfaces hardware issues early and helps us meet tight construction schedules without surprises during commissioning. Through our structured cabling work, every connection is also labelled, documented and tested, because clean cabling is essential for clean AV.

Integrated with IT from the start

AV systems have to work with your network, endpoints, cloud platforms and building infrastructure. Our AV engineers work with our IT Infrastructure team on VLAN design for control, AV-over-IP and guest networks, alignment with your IT security policies and global standards, PoE and power planning, Zoom, Teams and Exchange integration, and remote access and secure update methods. Because we deliver both AV and IT in-house, everything is planned, delivered and supported as one solution.

Support that continues after handover

Every AV system we deliver can be covered by an ongoing Support & Managed Services plan, including proactive maintenance, firmware updates, remote monitoring and local on-site response from our bilingual team. We hand over clean documentation, as-built drawings and clear support records, so you are never left with a black box. If your IT or facilities team is overseas, we give them what they need to support the system remotely, or we handle it for you.

Cameras are replaced, platforms move on and rooms are repurposed. We design with that in mind: display and camera positions that can take the next generation of hardware, spare capacity in the rack and on the network, and records that tell the next engineer what is there. When a camera has to be replaced or a room added, the job is planned and the design already allows for it.

Look your best

First impressions still matter, even down a video call

Whoever is on the other end decides something about your company in the first few seconds. Most meeting rooms still give them a wide shot of an empty table with someone small at the far end of it.

Conferencing has moved a long way. Cameras now find whoever is speaking, frame them at a sensible size and cut between angles the way a director would, so people on the call see faces and follow the conversation instead of squinting at a room. If you have not looked at this in two or three years, it is worth another look.

Where it goes wrong, and what it costs

Japanese commercial buildings split fit-out work into three categories, by who orders it, who manages it and who pays for it. Most global AV vendors only quote one of them.

A-works, the building core

Works that are ordered, managed and paid for by the building owner.

B-works, inside your space

Works that are ordered and paid for by the tenant, but are managed and completed by the building owner or their specified vendor. Anything fixed, such as walls, ceilings, floors, fixed millwork, and mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) services, typically falls into this category.

C-works, furniture and technology

Works that are ordered, managed and paid for by the tenant. Furniture and technology typically fall into this category.

Standard corporate AV packages are quoted on C-works. Then the boardroom table needs structural power, or the ceiling needs reinforcing for ceiling microphones, and that is B-works: a separate, marked-up negotiation with the landlord's own contractor. Done badly, the landlord can stop the work, or the fire and safety sign-off fails.

What it costs when nobody catches it early

  • Move-in dates slip by weeks while negotiations with the landlord's contractor drag on.
  • Budgets move on B-works variations that nobody planned for.
  • Fire and safety certification fails, and that halts the whole fit-out.

The engineering behind the rooms

A meeting room that works on day one is designed months before the equipment is delivered.

  • System design and drawings. Signal flow diagrams, rack elevations, plate and conduit positions and reflected ceiling plans, issued in the format your designer and the building require.
  • Acoustics and sightlines. Display size and position, microphone coverage and speaker layout worked out against the real room dimensions and finishes.
  • Landlord contractor coordination. Power, containment, ceiling penetrations, cable routes and backing for displays specified by us and coordinated in Japanese with the building's contractor. How work is divided in a Japanese building.
  • Control and platform design. Programming, touch panel layout and the Teams, Zoom or Webex decisions agreed with your IT team in advance.
  • Commissioning and handover. Every room tested against the design, with as-built drawings, configuration records and user training at handover.
  • Fire and life safety. Ceiling speakers, projector mounts and anything passing through a fire-rated ceiling have to match the plan the fire service approved. We check that before we specify.

Our engineers hold current audio-visual certifications from Crestron, Biamp, Shure, Extron and Audinate, alongside the platform certifications the conferencing side needs.

Design – Build – Support

How this service runs from the first site visit to ongoing support.

Design

We assess how each room will be used, who will support it and which platforms it must connect to, then produce a system design and bill of materials aligned with your global standards and IT policies.

Build

Equipment is staged, configured and tested at our Tokyo facility, then our own technicians handle cabling, rack building, installation, control programming and commissioning, with full documentation and user training at handover.

Support

Ongoing Support & Managed Services plans cover proactive maintenance, firmware updates, remote monitoring and on-site response from our bilingual team, with as-built documentation that lets local or overseas teams support the system confidently.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. We design to your global standards and apply a consistent user interface across rooms, so staff get the same experience in Tokyo as they do elsewhere. We work with your regional IT and facilities teams to agree the room types, platforms and equipment, then document everything so the standard can be repeated for future rooms or a wider rollout.

We regularly deliver rooms for Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Webex, as well as environments that need to support more than one platform. We also handle the integration work behind the scenes, such as resource accounts, Exchange calendar connections, network configuration, certificates and the conditional access policies that decide whether a Teams room can sign in at all, so meetings start reliably with a single touch.

No. We are certified partners with manufacturers including Crestron, Extron, Biamp, QSC and Shure, but we are not tied to any single brand. We recommend equipment based on your environment, your budget and your long-term support model, and we can work within an existing corporate standard if your organisation already has one.

In many cases, yes. We would start with a site visit to review the existing equipment, cabling, configuration and any documentation, then advise on what is needed to bring the system to a supportable state. From there we can discuss a Support & Managed Services plan that suits how your team works.
