A fast-growing Tokyo space technology company moved into a new multi-floor headquarters with a satellite manufacturing cleanroom. Joining late in construction, mtc delivered IT infrastructure, AV and physical security on time, and has since been re-engaged to support the client’s expansion across five floors.

Supported through ongoing expansion
The brief
The client’s new headquarters combined engineering and administrative functions with a satellite manufacturing cleanroom, and its teams collaborated both locally and globally. mtc was brought in during the final stages of construction, with much of the interior fit-out already underway and a compressed schedule, yet was asked to design, coordinate and deliver a complete suite of workplace technology.
Challenges
- Joining midstream meant rapidly assessing IT and AV requirements and identifying gaps
- Systems had to be integrated without impacting the broader construction schedule
- Cleanroom IT requirements needed secure integration with general office systems
- Stakeholders in Japan, Singapore, the US and Europe worked mainly in English
- Construction and local implementation teams operated primarily in Japanese
What we did
IT infrastructure across multiple floors
Working closely with the client’s international IT team, mtc implemented a reliable and scalable network. The work covered server room design, structured cabling, hardware specification and rack deployment across multiple floors. Special care was taken to meet the cleanroom’s IT requirements, ensuring secure integration between general office systems and the satellite production environment.
AV for meetings and company events
To support hybrid collaboration, mtc installed video conferencing and content sharing in meeting rooms, and AV for an all-hands space used for company events and internal briefings. Controls were designed to be easy for non-technical users. All systems were standardised to the client’s global IT and AV framework, with customised layouts and bilingual user interfaces for daily operations in Japan.
Multi-layered physical security
mtc delivered access control for secure zones, CCTV coverage and integration with the building’s overall security plan. This required coordination between building management, general contractors and the client’s global compliance team to ensure regulatory alignment and operational safety across both general office and cleanroom zones.
Bilingual coordination and ongoing support
mtc acted as bilingual project coordinator, facilitating daily communication between the client’s global team and Japan-based trades, designers and vendors. After handover, mtc returned as new teams were onboarded and space was built out, providing system expansion, equipment upgrades and technical advisory services. It also supported lifecycle maintenance planning, including equipment documentation, firmware management and replacement planning.
Delivered in-house
Design, procurement, installation and handover were delivered by mtc’s in-house bilingual team, with one point of contact throughout.
