The challenge
The office had to run without local AV specialists
The client was opening a new Tokyo office with an international team and needed a reliable local partner to deliver a full AV and IT integration project. Cost control, usability and quick delivery were the priorities, and there would be no local AV specialists on site once the office was running.
Key challenges
- Coordinating design and execution with a globally distributed IT team
- Delivering reliable functionality while reusing existing AV hardware
- Making systems easy for non-technical staff to operate
- Meeting the internal standards set by the overseas IT team
Our role
An audit of the existing equipment set what mtc bought
The legacy displays and cameras were audited, then reused where possible
mtc audited the legacy displays, cameras and infrastructure at the client and set out a reuse strategy, with a focus on value and simplicity. The result is a hybrid AV system that integrates new and reused components across meeting rooms and shared spaces at lower cost.
Cabling, core network and video conferencing follow overseas IT standards
mtc delivered the full AV and IT system, including structured cabling and the core network setup. High-definition video conferencing lets staff meet remote teams and international partners with clarity and reliability. Throughout design and installation, mtc worked with the remote overseas IT stakeholders at the client to keep each element in line with their internal standards.
One touchscreen runs the town hall audio
For internal events, town halls and hybrid meetings, mtc designed a simple-to-use audio system that adapts from formal meetings to casual brainstorming sessions. Non-technical users control the whole system from one touchscreen panel, without any programming.
A dedicated support line opened after installation
The bilingual project coordinators at mtc acted as the point of contact between international decision-makers and Japanese site vendors, making sure everyone understood requirements, timelines and expectations. Regular feedback loops kept the technology aligned with the client brand and identity. After installation, mtc set up a dedicated support line for technical issues and questions.
