Helping You Achieve New Milestones

Structured Cabling

Cabling is the hardest thing to change once it is in

Structured cabling is the foundation of every technology environment. mtc plans, installs, tests and documents copper, fibre and specialty cabling for international companies with offices in Japan, so your network, AV, security and IT systems run reliably for years to come. Our in-house licensed team handles everything from routing to certification.

Cabling that is tested, labelled and documented

Copper and fibre optic cabling

We install and certify CAT6, CAT6A and CAT7 systems, shielded or unshielded, depending on your performance and compliance requirements. Every installation is tested with professional-grade Fluke equipment to confirm it meets the relevant standards. Consistent labelling and documentation make future support and troubleshooting straightforward for your IT team.

For backbone and high-speed connections, we design and deploy single-mode and multi-mode fibre systems. Our technicians are experienced in termination, splicing and certification, so your fibre network supports both present and future bandwidth needs. Fibre is certified and documented to the same standard as our copper work.

Specialty cabling

Beyond copper and fibre, many environments need specialty cabling. mtc installs cabling for CCTV, access control, audio distribution, intercoms and other building technologies. Because we manage all low-voltage cabling in one scope, routes, racks and pathways are coordinated from the start and free from conflicts.

Racks and cable management

Clean cabling is about more than performance. It is also about organisation and maintainability. mtc provides rack design, patching layouts, cable trays and cable management systems that keep installations neat and easy to support. This structured approach helps reduce downtime, simplify moves, adds and changes, and extend the life of your investment.

In-house expertise

mtc performs cabling work with its own licensed and trained team rather than subcontracting it. We use professional tools, follow industry best practice and document every run, so you always know what is connected where. The result is consistent quality and clear accountability throughout your project.

Planned for the changes to come

Headcounts change and floors are rearranged. We leave spare capacity in containment, patch panels and fibre, because adding it later means opening finished ceilings and floors. At handover we provide as-built drawings, certification reports and labelling schedules, so moves, additions and upgrades start from accurate records.

Where it goes wrong, and what it costs

Cabling goes in first and is buried behind everything else. It can be changed, but by the time anyone finds a problem it sits under a finished floor or above a closed ceiling, and the work costs many times what it would have cost to get right.

Containment and risers

Tray and riser capacity is fixed by the base building. If nobody checked it before the order, the cable does not fit.

Penetrations and fire stopping

Every penetration between floors and compartments is done by the building’s own contractor, to our specification, or it fails inspection.

Certification

The manufacturer warranty depends on tested results for every link.

None of this is visible at handover. It becomes visible the first time you add a floor, move a bank of desks or try to claim on the warranty.

What it costs when the physical layer is an afterthought

  • Cable that cannot be routed, because the riser or tray was sized before anyone measured.
  • A failed inspection over fire stopping, which stops the whole floor.
  • No warranty at the end, because nobody kept the test results.

The engineering behind the cabling

Cabling is the part of a fit-out that is hardest to change later, so the design work is done first.

  • Route and containment design. Cable routes, tray and basket sizing, separation from power and riser capacity planned against the architectural drawings.
  • Standards and warranty. Cable and connector selection driven by the channel standard and the manufacturer warranty you want at the end, decided before procurement.
  • Landlord contractor coordination. Penetrations, fire stopping, floor boxes and containment installed by the building’s contractor to our specification, coordinated in Japanese. How work is divided in a Japanese building.
  • Labelling and records. A labelling scheme agreed with your IT team, applied consistently and delivered as patching schedules and floor plans.
  • Testing and certification. Every link tested to the standard and issued as a report, which is what the warranty depends on.
  • Fire stopping and inspection. Every penetration between floors and fire compartments is fire-stopped to the building’s standard, and the work is inspected. Getting it wrong stops the whole floor.

Our engineers hold current manufacturer certifications for the cabling systems we install, which the extended system warranties depend on.

Tokyo headquarters relocation for a global gaming company, on time, on budget and with zero punch items at handover.

Design – Build – Support

How this service runs from the first site visit to ongoing support.

Design

Planning cable routes, pathways and rack layouts around your network, AV, security and IT requirements, choosing copper or fibre types to suit performance and compliance needs, and coordinating all low-voltage cabling in one scope.

Build

Our in-house licensed team installs and terminates copper, fibre and specialty cabling, splices fibre, fits racks, trays and patching, labels every run and tests each installation with professional-grade Fluke equipment.

Support

We hand over as-built drawings, certification reports and labelling schedules so your IT team can support the system with confidence, and we remain available for audits, expansions, upgrades and moves, adds and changes as your business grows in Japan.

Frequently asked questions

It depends on the performance you need, the equipment you plan to connect and any compliance requirements for your site. We install all three, in shielded and unshielded versions, and will recommend the option that suits your office during the design stage. Our aim is a system that meets your needs today and leaves room for future upgrades.

Every copper installation is tested with professional-grade Fluke equipment, and fibre links are certified after termination or splicing. You receive certification reports along with as-built drawings and labelling schedules, so your IT team has a clear record of what was installed and how it performed at handover.

Yes. We install cabling for CCTV, access control, audio distribution, intercoms and other building technologies alongside network cabling. Managing all low-voltage cabling in one scope means routes, racks and pathways are coordinated, which avoids conflicts between systems and makes the finished installation easier to maintain.

Yes. We can review your current cabling, racks and documentation, identify issues, and plan expansions or upgrades that fit with what is already in place. Where records are incomplete, we can label runs and produce updated drawings so your team has an accurate picture of the installation going forward.
