Working at mtc
What the job involves
The work
mtc delivers enterprise IT, audiovisual and physical security projects for foreign-affiliated companies in Tokyo. Design, procurement, installation, commissioning and support are carried out by our own team. Engineers here gain experience across the full project lifecycle.
The environment
The team is bilingual and the working environment reflects that. English and Japanese are both used daily, depending on the client, the vendor and the building. Fluency in both is not a requirement, but you will need to be comfortable moving between them. Most projects are delivered in Grade A commercial buildings in central Tokyo, including Marunouchi, Toranomon and Roppongi, and the majority of the work is carried out on site.
What we look for
Technical competence is essential, and so is judgement. We work in small teams with direct client contact, so clear communication, sound decisions under time pressure and a professional manner on site carry as much weight as technical skill. We are looking for people who take ownership of their work.

Where the work happens
Projects run in occupied commercial buildings, on live construction sites and in client server rooms. Site work is coordinated in Japanese with building management and the contractors working alongside us.
